About Moving Lifeline
We exist because the moving industry has a fraud problem — and consumers deserve a trusted, independent watchdog.
Our Mission
Moving Lifeline was founded with one purpose: to eliminate fraud from the moving industry. Every year, tens of thousands of consumers fall victim to rogue movers, broker schemes, and bait-and-switch pricing tactics.
We built a certification system that holds movers to the highest documented standard in the industry — and we make that information freely available to every consumer, everywhere.
Our founder, Douglas Dedrick, spent 26 years in the moving industry before launching Moving Lifeline. He has personally seen what fraud does to families — stolen belongings, emptied bank accounts, and moves that turn into nightmares. That experience drives everything we do.
"No consumer should have to wonder if the company they hired is going to show up, steal their belongings, or hold their furniture hostage. That's why we built this."
— Jasmine, Founder
Our Values
Protection First
Every decision we make is guided by one question: does this protect consumers? We never accept payment for placements or favorable treatment.
Radical Transparency
Our certification criteria are public. Our revocation policy is public. We believe consumers deserve to know exactly why a company was or wasn't certified.
No Conflicts of Interest
Moving companies cannot pay to improve their standing. Reviews cannot be purchased. Our funding comes from certification fees — not advertisements.
